Hello, I’m Ashley!  It brings me joy to connect with others on a personal level and have real, honest conversations. I aim to guide my clients to a new perspective about their health – one that empowers them to make confident decisions.

I’ve been a registered dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration since 2014, and am a certified health coach with the American Council on Exercise. I am also a new mom to my baby girl Anna, and have been married to my husband Frank since 2012!

With the right nutrition knowledge, a focus on your food planning and preparation skills, and while reinforcing your personal motivation, taking ownership of your health is possible.

Good health starts with your mindset and your motivation – two things I explore with my clients. With a good plan in place, I believe you have the power to improve your health by continually reinforcing your personal motivation to change and keeping your eyes on your own realistic goals.

I have learned, especially postpartum, that weight loss CAN be achieved slowly by tweaking your current eating routine, as you listen to your hunger and fullness cues, look for the “satisfaction factor” in your food choices, and consider the benefits of eating foods that are nutritious. I support a modest weight loss of 5-10% that improves health conditions such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes.

After years of working with hundreds of clients one-on-one, I have learned that the best way to support others is to focus on small changes in your current routine instead of following a whole new meal plan or diet, and to avoid putting too much pressure on yourself to lose lots of weight.

Every day I have fun practicing making tasty and healthy foods in my kitchen, using my best self-taught strategies to simplify healthy eating. I like smart food shopping, getting creative in the kitchen, and minimizing food waste.

Sometimes I follow recipes but most often I like to create meals out of whatever I have in my refrigerator or pantry. Sometimes it’s a “balanced meal” and other times it's leftovers wrapped up in a tortilla – my favorite convenient go-to! And I definitely eat foods for fun and convenience, which is still healthy!

My personal core values are to seek, trust and obey God, who is in control of all things; to love others; and to treat yourself with love.
